Treatment Facilities
Lighthouse Addiction Treatment Centers
The first day at a treatment center is easier when the place feels manageable. A quiet waiting room, a short drive from home and a familiar face at the front desk all make it more likely someone comes back the next day. Lighthouse built its network around that idea and puts care in the communities where clients already live and work.
Lighthouse Behavioral Health facilities include a residential detox program in Columbus, treatment centers in cities across Ohio, and Voyage peer centers where clients can meet between sessions. Use the directory below to find the nearest location. You can also call admissions at (614) 334-6903, and a specialist will help match you with the right site and level of care.
What To Look for in a Behavioral Health Facility
Credentials come first. SAMHSA’s guide, Finding Quality Treatment for Substance Use Disorders, looks at five areas: accreditation, medication, evidence-based practices, how the program involves families, and ongoing support after treatment. The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) also advises looking for a current license and accreditation from an independent review board.
Practical questions matter, too. Can you get there on a weekday schedule? When you’re ready to step down, does the program move you to the next level of care, or do you have to start over somewhere else?
For many people, a big concern is whether one team can treat both substance use and mental health issues. Depression, anxiety and trauma often show up alongside addiction. A facility that treats both conditions in the same plan saves you from coordinating care between separate providers.

Inside Residential Withdrawal Management
Some people need medical support before they can start therapy. Lighthouse’s residential detox program at 4000 E Main St. gives clients a place to stay on site while nurses monitor them around the clock. Staff check vitals, give medications, and use medication-assisted treatment to ease withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings. Licensed clinicians complete mental health evaluations, and clients also get individual counseling and time with certified peer supporters.
Detox is where treatment starts, and it doesn’t end there. Case managers plan the move to partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient care, or another residential provider, so clients have a next step lined up before they leave.
Peer Centers and Recovery Housing
Recovery keeps going after a session ends. Voyage peer centers give clients a place to spend time with certified peer supporters who draw on their own experience with recovery. Activities include yoga, meditation, fitness, life skills, arts and crafts, community events, and AA and NA meetings. At the Whitehall East Peer Center, clients can also gather and share meals while they’re in treatment.
Some clients have no stable place to live, and that can keep them out of treatment. Lighthouse Recovery Housing offers drug- and alcohol-free sober living for clients who are actively enrolled in a clinically indicated substance use disorder treatment program and can live independently. No minimum period of sobriety is required. Lighthouse provides a bed, a dresser and a lockbox for medications.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to go through detox before starting treatment at Lighthouse?
Not necessarily. Detox is only for people whose substance use puts them at risk of dangerous or uncomfortable withdrawal. During the pre-admission screening, a clinician reviews your medical history and substance use and recommends a level of care. If you need medically supervised withdrawal, Lighthouse Residential Treatment in Columbus provides it, with nursing staff on site around the clock.
Can I get housing while attending outpatient treatment?
Yes, if you qualify. Lighthouse Recovery Housing is open to clients who are actively enrolled in a clinically indicated substance use disorder treatment program and can live independently. You don’t need a minimum period of sobriety to apply.
What does CARF accreditation mean for a treatment facility?
CARF International is an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services. To earn accreditation, a provider goes through a peer-review survey that checks its services against international standards. The NIAAA lists a current license and accreditation by an independent review board as signs of quality treatment. Lighthouse is CARF accredited.
Will my employer or family find out I went to a treatment facility?
Not without your permission, in most cases. Substance use treatment records are protected by a federal regulation, 42 CFR Part 2, which limits how that information can be shared. It sets stricter limits than standard HIPAA privacy rules. Lighthouse follows these protections at every location.
Can I call a Lighthouse facility on behalf of a family member?
Yes. Family members can call admissions at (614) 334-6903 to learn about programs, locations and how to help someone start treatment. The person entering treatment has to agree to their own admission, so the admissions team will need to talk with them directly before scheduling.
